What Are John's Interests and Background in Mechanical Engineering?

High school education. Retired from IBM 30 years. A bit of experience in control and data acquisition. Current interest in mechanical engineering, specifically epicyclical gear systems. I'm a firm believer in knowledge with understanding.
This forum looks very interesting and I am looking forward to it. I will be posting in Mechanical Engineering.
