'Artificial Intelligence' has almost finished and is the worst film I have seen in certainly the last few months. I base this on how I would react to seeing two or more of the leading actors die (delight). Sandra Bullock in 'Speed' was almost as bad, or possibly worse.

Pat "Puppy" Thomas. He played Uncle Fester in the Addams Family Reunion.

I say that with pride. I went to high school with him. :approve:

Unfortunately, most of the movies he's been in haven't been nearly as good as Addams Family Reunion.

He does do a pretty good Curly if they ever do a Three Stooges movie.

I've said this many times and I'll say it again. The Core is the worst thing ever filmed. It was actually advertised as being scientific, The flat-earth theory is more scientifically accurate than this film.

Worst actor is Chevy Chase and the entire hobbit cast in lord of the rings...

Worst movie ever : the second star wars movie : (you know the one with them white robots)

Best movie this year : Mystic river and lost in translation

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind; I thought it was just so boring :/. I liked Speed though, but fair enough.

gotta second the Chevy Chase nomination. fletch was okay, everything else he has ever done has been vomitous.

Best actors : Marlon Brando and Jack Nicholson...Al Pacino comes close

Best actress : Scarlet Johanson

regards
marlon

Worst Actor : I pick the Annekin Skywalker dude in the 2nd Star Wars movie.

Neve Campbell and the whole crew working on 'Scream I,II & III'.'Titanic' as well.I think Chevy Chase is okay. There are other comedy actors far worse than him.I would shoot Steve Martin between the eyes... He's so annoying...

I completely disagree dexter...Neve Campbell is very much ok as an actress...Steve Martin compared to Chase is like comparing Mozart to Britney Spears...With Martin in the role of Mozart of course...

Don't smoke crack, then come post at PF. If you want to be a crackhead, with crackhead opinions go ahead, but this isn't the place for it.
Chevy Chase is okay?
seek rehab.

apparently nobody hear has ever suffered through a movie that they made a Mystery Science Theater of in the Non-Mystery Science Theater form. Personally I vote for "The Amazing Colossal Man" and for second "The Brain that Wouldn't Die"

My geology teacher in college always told me to watch that purely for laughs. I still intend to someday.
On a similar note- did anyone ever see LA (the one with the volcano)? If no, don't! It was truly terrible! I'm not going to begin pointing out the horrible inaccuracies in it.

No Marlon Brando? I have a feeling you'll regret that.

Steve Martin is much better than Chevy Chase. I don't even know why Steve Martin is being discussed in this thread. Haven't you ever seen him doing his lariat tricks? I'll bet not too many of today's comedians can do something like that.

Vanilla Sky has to be the worst movie ever. Overseas, the military base used to show movies at the theater for free, so you always had a pretty good turnout (thank God I didn't have to pay anything to see this). I was distracted through the entire second half of the movie by people in the audience constantly checking their watches to see how much time was left in the movie. It was actually more interesting watching the watches flicker on and off than watching the movie - kind of like they had let lose a swarm of fireflies in the movie theater.

Oh, and just to be safe, I think Marlon Brando is one of the best actors ever.

The Star Trek series with their goofy aliens and space-ships is the worst movie(s).

P.S. :The actors 'starring' in it are equally as bad.

I tend to forget the worst films and actors, unfortunately I remember "Prince of Thieves" as being one of the worst, certainly Kevin Costner was the worst. One sentence he'd try to have a british accent the next he sounded like he was from New York.

The 13th Warrior with Antonio Banderas, why?

I LOVE "Christmas Vacation" with Chevy Chase. That is one of my all time favorite movies.

Armageddon was the worst movie I've ever seen until I saw Slackers.

Worst actor ever is Jennifer Lopez. Honorable mention is Ben Afflec.

  • #25
"Christmas Vacation" and "The Great Outdoors" have to be 2 of the funniest movies ever made.

Best actor has to be Arnold Schwarzeneggggger in the Terminator. (couldnt decide on the best actor so picked him)

Worst has to be anyone of the many "actors" in those cheesy porno's.

  • #26
Actually the worst actors ever are Justin and Kelly in "From Justin to Kelly"

  • #27
The worst movie I have ever seen was "Timeline". What a horrible, horrible movie. The plot sucked, and so did everything else about it. "The Time Machine" was much better (and even had a fascinating soundtrack).

  • #28
God ! "Timeline" was awfull. I love movies set in medieval times but this one sucked big time."Messenger" on the other hand about Joan d'Arc live was suprisingly excellent.

  • #29
The worst film I ever saw was "Gods and Generals", a US civil war film. Some of the worst acting, screenwriting and directing you'll ever see. What made it unfathomable was that the same people made "Gettysburg", which is a not-bad, average sort of film. I guess this is what happens when you hang around Ted Turner too much.

Kevin Costner is amazingly average for a man who has won a best actor acadamy award. His acting is stiff and just plain boring in almost everything he does except films related to baseball, which I think he actually does alright in.

I agree that Chase is being unfairly bashed. He is well suited to his roles in the Vacation series. Chevy is funny, although overshadowed by Dudly Moore, in Foul Play with Goldie Hawn. And again he is well suited to his role in Caddy Shack.

William Shatner gets my vote for one of the worst actors.

Any actor in the wrong role. I love John Wayne in many of his films, but really, was he the right choice as the Roman Guard who says "Surely this was the son of God..." (use John Wayne voice and say the line) in "The Greatest Story Ever Told?"

I thought Timeline was rotten also and the book is probably Michael Chrichton's worst. It holds a special place in my heart though. I heard about the 2-slit experiment for the first time in that book. It was what got me interested in physics and I went to the library and looked up some stuff. I haven't been the same since.

  • #32
I agree timeline was worst of Michael. But it still beats a lot of the other crap on the market, namely the core, or the cube, or cube 2, or pretty much any hollywood movie based around physics and gets it all wrong.
However just because I'm very political I'm going to have to say the 9-11 impersonations in Day of Tomorrow makes me wallow in my own hatred.

Sorry. He won for Best Director for Dances With Wolves. He was only nominated for Best Actor. I thought he was dismal in the role.

I'm going to get into trouble with PC folks on PF I guess when i say that I hate big time ! "Schindler List". I can not explain exactly what it is that I can't stand about it, not black and white footage for sure.

Bad Actors

Sometimes bad actors make good movies

well not good movies... movies that are fun to watch

watch naked weapon... (not naked gun) and see what I mean

it will crack u up how bad it is

Madonna and Mariah Carey would probably rank among the worst actors.

Solaris' is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The story just dragged on and on. It's so painful to watch. I've seen better romantic movies than that

What is the worst film/actors you have experienced?

Then you may want to see : THE BODYGUARD!

It has Kevin Costmore and Whinney Houston!

P.S narrowed the worst film down to two:Pearl Harbour and Top Gun. Actually this list is neverending if you really think about it?..its an Never-Ending-Story!

Ed Wood's movies are the worst I've seen, and that's in every category one can judge a movie. Direction, acting, "special effects" (flying saucers on strings?), story line, logic, flow, dialogue ("Earthlings are stupid, stupid, stupid!") . . . so bad it is funny to watch, especially after you find out he was trying to make a serious movie. I have a copy of "Plan 9 from Outer Space" which I still like to watch when I want to laugh for an hour or so.

Schindler's List is a typical Spielberg film. One smart dude, our hero, beats the odds by being clever and resourceful. And we walk out of the cinema feeling good about ourselves. We're not Nazis. We defeated them. Aren't we good. Massaging audience's egos is how Spielberg makes his many millions of dollars. He's not going to make us feel uncomfortable by, for example, asking how ordinary people -- supposedly civilised Europeans -- could be led to commit such atrocious crimes, and by suggesting that we, too, could fall into a similar trap if the right conditions arose and we let complacency, xenophobia and ignorance rule the day. The Holocaust, and many other mass-crimes like it, ought to make all of us deeply uncomfortable, to the core of our being, and works of art on the subject ought not to shield us from this uneasiness about the human condition. Spielberg, artistically, never grew up; he is the Peter Pan of the cinema, creating feel-good fantasies for his devoted flock.

Me too. Dragged, and dragged. Visually beautiful movie though.

With one fell blow, Crichton destroyed any respect I had for him, when he wrote The Rape of Physics, a.k.a Timeline. Still, that book was entertaining in a Bill-and-Ted kind of way.

I like that about Besson. He will consistently surprise you with one out of every three hundred films he makes.

The worst film I have ever seen is Glen Or Glenda.

However, I gather Manos is worse.

Yeah, he gets my vote: and shame on everyone who said Chevy Chase. Caddyshack is one of the all time greats, thank-you very little.

  • #49
Oh, another film that I thought was quite bad was "The School of Rock". It was funny in some parts, but just generally quite crap IMO.

  • #50
First of all, by "worst actor" I assume we mean worst-of-all-people-who-for-some-reason-still-get-roles-in-movies. I know that I could easily become the worst actor just by getting in a movie (somehow).

But as far as people who are supposedly good, I have to agree with those wha have fingered Kevin Costner. I enjoyed Bull Durham when it came out, but later, while watching the Untouchables, I remember screaming at the cinema screen : "Hey you, Costner, ACT whydoncha!"

Then came Dances with wolves, and then Waterworld. Heck, he must have some charm, but it ain't acting skills. (Whoosh. Got that off my chest.)

Now, don't get me started with Keanau!
