What inspired a physician to pursue a career in physics?

My name is Silkia and although I am now a physician my real love has always been physics. I intended to make it my career path on 3 occasions but I ended up in medical school. However, I now plan to do it even if self taught. I dream about going back to college , earning a PhD and becoming and astrophysicist. I came to this forum to share time and discussions with people that are also passionate about physics.
