What is Imaging Science and How Does it Impact Astronomy and Planetary Science?

I am a sophomore at RIT studying imaging science, which is essentially a major dedicated to the engineering and development of imaging technologies. i.e. MRIs, lasers, telescopes---anything that involves light.

I love my major and plan to use it to pursue a career in astronomy and planetary science, particularly exoplanetary science.
