What is it like to work in research as a physicist?

Hello PF,
I always wanted to become a physicist doing research all day . But here in lebanon there is no such career so could anyone who HAS a job in research give me a little peak at the daily work and an overall description.

It doesn't seem true that there are no physicists in Lebanon! See:

Yeah but there is no research jobs ... very few labs
