What is the Fascination with Quantum Mechanics?

Hi everybody
Greetings from Rome, Italy!
I've just registered on Physics Forums.
I'm an Electronic Engineer (graduated in 1994) with a passion for Quantum Mechanics.
I like everything is different from common thoughts, and QM force you to get rid of your experience and think in a completely different way.
I'm happy to take part of this forum, and hope to find a lot of people with the same passion to discuss with.

I’m a retired ex physicist I guess. Although I have a first degree in theoretical physics and did post graduate studies ( structural phase transitions in strontium Titanate, I did not pursue a career in physics.
