hi,

i am having trouble with figuring out this problem.

A drag racer, starting from rest, speeds up for 402 m with an acceleration of +23.0 m/s2. A parachute then opens, slowing the car down with an acceleration of -6.70 m/s2. How fast is the racer moving 3.35 102 m after the parachute opens?

I have no clue where to start or what to do. please help!

Find the speed the moment the parachute opens. From that you can answer the question... What exactly is the question though... "How fast is the racer moving 3.35 102 m after the parachute opens?"

is it 3.35m or 102m?
 
i mis-typed. it is supposed to be 3.35*10^2
