SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the use of CASA software for X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) data analysis, specifically addressing the removal of satellite peaks from spectra. Users confirm that CASA can deconvolute and integrate photo-emission peaks, allowing for quantitative analysis without the necessity of removing these peaks. The software is highly regarded for its capabilities in analyzing various data types, including diffraction, Auger, and EDS data. Additionally, the conversation highlights the use of a PHI Multiprobe system in conjunction with CASA.

PREREQUISITES
  • Familiarity with X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS)
  • Understanding of CASA software for data treatment
  • Knowledge of peak deconvolution techniques
  • Experience with PHI Multiprobe systems
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the capabilities of CASA software for XPS data analysis
  • Learn about peak deconvolution methods in spectroscopy
  • Explore quantitative analysis techniques in XPS
  • Find guides or tutorials on using CASA software effectively
USEFUL FOR

Researchers, physicists, and chemists involved in surface analysis and material characterization using XPS, as well as those seeking to enhance their skills in data treatment with CASA software.

I wonder if anyone have an idea about the software (CASA) used for the treatement of data dounded by XPS analysis. If yes, I am in need to know how to remove the satellite peaks that may show in a spectrum.
thanks

physicist888,

Why do you need to remove the satellite peaks? Casa XPS allows you to deconvolute and integrate photo-emission peaks. You should be able to do a quantitative analysis without removing these peaks. Casa is a very good software! I've used it to analyze diffraction, Auger, and EDS data. By the way, are you using a PHI system? We have a Multiprobe in our lab.

Modey, do you have any guide or PDF book for casa software?? it's really so complicated
thanks
