I'm having trouble finding information on why when you get far away from a piece of paper covered in yellow and blue dots (evenly spaced) the sheet eventually appears green. I know this has to do with color resolution but not much beyond that.

Here's something a bit interesting and somewhat related.
There is a matter of the Rods and Cones (http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/vision/rodcone.html), their sensitivity, and their placement in the eye. Our brain has a tendancy to fill in gaps aswell, smoothing the perceived information. Have you noticed that in the colour specrum there is no such colour as brown? From what I have read it is the product of a conflict in perception of the colours red and green The input signals don't mix well so our brain creates the colour brown.
