I just thought of this, don't know if it'll make a big difference but it could help to make PF more newbie friendly. At present the "Mentor" labels don't indicate the specialisation of the mentors, such as whether they're math/physics/bio/chem/etc. mentors. Perhaps if we included a second visible tag below the "Mentor" tag stating the specialisation of the mentors, forum newbies would know who to contact for help on certain threads. This would also help reduce a lot of misdirected PMs, but may in turn invite more PMs.

Just a thought. What do you guys think?

Each forum has the mentors responsible for it listed at the bottom. This information is also repeated in the staff list. Those of us listed for the feedback forum are "floating" mentors. If someone contacts one of us and their question is related to a forum outside our area of expertise, it's easy enough for us to forward the question to a more appropriate mentor.

Oh ... From its title, I thought this thread was about establishing migration patterns.

Al Moonbear said, clicking on the "staff" link under the "P" of the title "Physics Forums" at the top of each page reveals a list of Mentors and areas, Administrators, Homework Helpers, and Science Advsiors,
