1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
Predict whether an aqueous solution of the following salts will be acidic, basic or neutral. Briefly
explain your results.
a. NH4Cl
b. NaCl
c. MgCO3
d. NaH2PO4
e. KNO3

2. Relevant equations

3. The attempt at a solution
NH4Cl + H2O --> NH4OH + HCl (acidic)
NaCl + H2O --> NaOH + HCl (neutral)
MgCO3 + H2O --> MgOH + HCO3 (basic)
NaH2PO4 + H2O --> NaOH + H3PO4 (basic)
KNO3 + H2O --> KOH + HNO3 (neutral)
Is this correct???

Predictions are OK, but reaction equations are horrible.
