Self Learn Calculus Question

Hi everyone,

I am teaching myself calculus from Spivak's book.
I am wondering if it is necessary to do all or 1/2 of the problems in the book to gain a good understanding of calculus.

The thing is though, is that many of the problems require writing proofs, which I am absolutely terrible at. Can anyone point me towards any good threads? Ive already read http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=166996 but im still very weak.

I'm too busy right now to read this but I will in a while, it looks like it'd help me out with Spivak but I could be wrong.
