I keep my files using HDD, can my files still be retrieved under radiation and strong magnetic field?

Will it be better if I copy them into DVD disks?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Strong magnetic fields at the disk can erase the data - DVDs are better, as they do not rely on magnetization.
Radiation: Probably depends on the type of radiation.

If you expect significant radiation or strong magnetic fields somewhere (why?), what about an external backup?
