I want to understand the behavior of heavy electrons. For example is the mass actually changing? If so it would imply that a gravitational field could be affected by an electrical field. I am looking for good understandable references.
There isn't much of a reason for heavier generations of particles to exist except that they just happen to be the result of certain particle collisions.
When you have a field of multiple generations of particles existing at once such as with the neutrinos from the sun, the mass of neutrinos isn't actually changing. Instead what's happening is the 3 generations are oscillating at different rates (due to their mass differences) but in the same region of space at the same time, and so which one will appear in a given space is up to chance.
