twin paradox and time dilation

I like astrophysics,so i read books relating to it.I am also determined to make my career in the same.At present i am reading a book ,which includes brief about Einstein's 'Relativity and special relativity' theory.It also explains to some extent the 'Twin paradox' and 'Time dilation' concept.But, i can't really understand it all.Can anyone explain me the exact concept?as i don't have mentor in the above field.
