Finding exact atomic weight of bromine
A sample of carbon tetrabromide CBr4 contains 96.38% bromine and 3.62% carbon by weight, using the atomic weight of C as 12amu, find the exact atomic weight of bromine

This is a math problem.
Let "x" represent the total weight. Let "y" represent the weight of four bromine atoms. 0.0362 * x = 12 0.9638 * x = y y = 4*(bromine atomic weight) Solve for the atomic weight of bromine. |
