Functional groups of organic compounds
1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
find the functional groups in the following compound: ![]() 2. Relevant equations C8H16O4 3. The attempt at a solution I know there is an ether but there is also something else. What is it? I have tried to find a group that is in the compound, but I have had no luck. It seems to be only some ethers, but webassign indicates that there is something else. |

What do you consider to be functional groups? Ethers? OK! Take away the ethers and what else do you have?

Functional groups of organic compounds
Generally I consider the functional group to be just the atoms important to the structure. That would be C-O for ethers. What else is there for your example?
