Need DC motor having high holding torque
Hello Mates,
I m making my project on Wireless robotic arm using microcontroller. I need DC Geared Motor with following specifications: 1) low RPM. 2) High Starting torque. 3) High Holding torque. Can any1 please help me in selecting motor ?? |

Sounds to me like you need a worm drive on a standard small DC motor. Worm drives 'gear down' dramatically and are not too efficient so the holding torque is very good (due to the friction). A small motor needs to rev high, so a >=10:1 reduction would be quite handy. I should think.

look for hobbyist sites that's where the creativity is.
here's one of my favorites http://www.discovercircuits.com/ubbt...s.php?ubb=cfrm and search on terms like 'robotic supplies' http://www.hobbyengineering.com/index.html http://www.mpja.com/DC-Motors/products/100/ mpja is in North Florida. surely there's somebody similar in your part of the world.. |
