What type of degree is best. B.eng vs MS
Skrambles; what do you mean by spending the next semester as an intern? And what would be the benefit of doing such a thing? As far as the basic sciences such as math, physics, chem and thermodynamics go, I took all of them. And as for the design course, it is an introduction level course...- ahmetbaba

What type of degree is best. B.eng vs MS
I am a senior right now and I will have a BS in biochemistry. The graduate program director asked me to take the vector statics and dynamics courses, which I'm doing now. And I will probably take a design course also next semester. He also told me that if I have a GPA that is above 3.0, they...- ahmetbaba

What type of degree is best. B.eng vs MS
I'm currently in the middle of a decision that I have to bring to a conclusion very soon. Originally, my plan was to go to med-school, so I chose Biochemistry as my major, however during my senior year I realized that Medicine wasn't for me, and decided to get an education in Mechanical...- ahmetbaba

Determining the limits of integration
Homework Statement Use a triple integral to find the volume of the solid bounded by the graphs of the equations; z=9-x3 y=2-x2 y=0 z=0, x is equal to or bigger than 0Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution Well finding the limits for z and y were simple, they are given, however...- ahmetbaba

Change to polar coordinates and integrate
Homework Statement evaluate the iterated integral by converting to polar coordinates integral, integral x2dxdy, the limits are 4 to 0 for the outer integral, and /sqrt(4y-y2) to 0 for the inner integral. Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution well...- ahmetbaba

Setting up a double integral to find the volume
well it is a sphere, we can say that the center of the sphere passes through (0,0,0) so if we calculate the top half, we can multiply by 2, to get the answer. z=sqrt(r^2-x^2-y^2) the limits being -r and r for the first integral, and sqrt(r^2-y^2) and -sqrt(r^2-y^2) is this correct...- ahmetbaba

Setting up a double integral to find the volume
do we approach this problem by first saying z=o, then x=o and y=o, integrating all three equations. However the question says to set up a double integration, not a triple integration?- ahmetbaba

Proving a Limit with Delta-Epsilon
well the right hand side is the length. [(x-a)^2+(y-b)^2]^.5, When I say I open this up, I mean, i take its square and distribute the squares.- ahmetbaba

Proving a Limit with Delta-Epsilon
Suzanne, the link that you posted doesn't say how to prove that a limit exists, it basically says that we did such things and now do these for practice. Is there no one here that knows about these things in detail?- ahmetbaba

Proving a Limit with Delta-Epsilon
well that first statement is from the epsilon-delta definition of a limit. I know they don't equal each other, but they do have a relationship, and that's how you approach the problem, that's what I think.- ahmetbaba

How do antibiotics know where to go?
well, bleach isn't an antibiotic. Bleach is something that has bactericidal properties due to its strong oxidizing compounds. Antibiotics on the other hand are something else, obviously there are exceptions when antibiotics may kill human cells, but as I've said, antibiotics will kill...- ahmetbaba

How do antibiotics know where to go?
Well, antibiotics just destroy whatever they can. The reason why they can't kill regular human cells (as far as I know) is because human cells don't have the receptor sites that these antibiotics are looking for. Antibiotics won't kill a single type of bacteria also, as I've said it will...- ahmetbaba

How Do Cancers Spread and Affect Other Organs?
It was thought that a particular cell type belonging to a particular tissue, won't be able to survive in a different tissue competing with the other cells in the other tissue. This turned out to be false. In your example, if any cancer travels to the lung and you end up with some type of...- ahmetbaba
