Sprockets+Roller chain+Rotation >Linear oscillation; how?
@jack action Just a little update. :) Since that eureka moment in the morning, I literally sat in front of my computer for hours, trying to perfect the arrow machine gun. It is now done, and totally working fine! :D Algodoo file>http://www.algodoo.com/algobox/details.php?id=100281...- Alex Mercer

Sprockets+Roller chain+Rotation >Linear oscillation; how?
@jack action First off, thanks a lot for the reply! The linkage systems, cranks and basic rotary/linear converters won't work for me, because the mechanism I am using is attached to the roll chain, which consists of both rotary and linear motions, so it won't cut it for me. HOWEVER, I worked...- Alex Mercer

Sprockets+Roller chain+Rotation >Linear oscillation; how?
Hello there! I am a high school student, and I am really interested in Physics, esp. electronics and mechanics; I am not an expert or something, so please don't take it hard on me. Yesterday, I was bored and I messed around and successfully made a catapult...- Alex Mercer

Correct electric charge/current flow & left/right hand rule?
The thing is... why does the current flow the other way around? Or is it because people still use this, due to how people back in the day used these kind of conventional flow rules and made laws like left/right hand rules, and that we don't want to adapt into a newer, more accurate version?- Alex Mercer

Correct electric charge/current flow & left/right hand rule?
Exactly what I thought about the water analogy the other day! Maybe teach kids that the ground is... a positive terminal and the water tower is the negative? And that the height of the tower= charge, and amount of water= current? That was a good thing you mentioned.- Alex Mercer

Explanation of the mechanics of a rack and pinion system?
Hello there! I am a high school student. Obviously, I don't know much about physics, other than F=MA, L=Iω, so unfortunately, I can't help you with the equations. However, fortunately I remembered and I thought I'd share some good program with you; my favorite. It is called Algodoo, from...- Alex Mercer

Correct electric charge/current flow & left/right hand rule?
Hello there, people! I am quite new here; in fact, this is my first post. I am quite strange to this place. Feeling kinda welcome, though. Okay, so short to the point. I am an 8th grader, and my school just started teaching us about electricity. Well, the basics. I knew much about it, much...- Alex Mercer
