Undergrad Why do some QM books start with Polarization?
I'm an undergraduate in Physics and just cracked open some QM books, some seem to start with polarization and a strange way of introducing operators, while others start with the wavefunction and then go into harmonic oscilators, then the hydrogen atom etc.. What does polarization have to do...- alexis12

Calculating Quantum Tunneling Probability - 1.524 eV, 343 pm, 2.654 eV
Homework Statement What is the approximate transmission probability (in %) of an electron with total energy 1.524 eV through a barrier of thickness 343 pm, and a potential height of 2.654 eV? (Does it matter what the potential energy is before and after the barrier? Not really, as long as it is...- alexis12

Studying Struggling with relativistic mechanics questions, need a textbook recommended
I have never done relativity before, my uni professor isn't good enough and I can't understand a word he says, he's all over the place. Anyway I missed a week due to being sick, and I just can't catch up, I am struggling to find any textbooks that have similar notation or help me solve...- alexis12

What classes do I need? What do I need to study?
What about designing tech for Physics uses, or tech for Biomedical uses etc... I guess what it comes down to is an understanding of technology which is Electrical Engineering. Any specific classes you know of? I can attend any of the classes listed here...- alexis12

What classes do I need? What do I need to study?
Hey guys, so I'm just some teenager who is in first year Mathematics and Physics Bsc at University of Strathclyde in Glasgow UK. I am doing really well since it's first year it is so easy... I had a dream yesterday, where I designed some arbitrary piece of tech, and then after that I got...- alexis12
