Can you do integral of sec^5(x)tan^2(x) without reduction formula?
Homework Statement Can you do integral of sec^5(x)tan^2(x) without reduction formula? Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution If so, would it be integration by parts? I tried splitting it up in way too many ways to post them on here. Thanks for any hints!- aselin0331

What Definite Integral Does This Riemann Sum Represent?
Homework Statement Rn=\sum(i*e^(-2i/n))/n^2, i=1 Identify this Riemann sum corresponding to a certain definite integral. Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution I got till 1/n^2 [1/e^(2/n)+2/e^(4/n)+3/e^(6/n)...n/e^2] and that's it. To my understanding I should be...- aselin0331

Geometric Series Homework: Sum of ((n+1)*3^n)/2^(2n)
I guess I should have said that this multiple choice question is asking us to select the reason why the series converges and these are the options: A. Convergent geometric series B. Convergent p series C. Comparison(or limit comparison) with a geometric or P-series D. Converges by...- aselin0331

Geometric Series Homework: Sum of ((n+1)*3^n)/2^(2n)
Homework Statement The sum of ((n+1)*3^n)/(2^2n) Homework Equations absolute value of r must be less than 1 for the series to be convergent. The Attempt at a Solution i tried multiplying it out and splitting it up like: 3^n*n/(2^(2n))+3^n/(2^(2n)) but then i am stuck when I...- aselin0331
