Woodpecker's Height: Solving an Angle of Elevation Problem
Homework Statement Matt spies a woodpecker on the branch of a tree in a park. From the ground, the angle of elevation along his line of sight to the bird is 26 degrees. He walks 20 ft towards the tree, and in the same plane as before, now sees the bird at an angle of elevation of 40 degrees...- AstrophysicsX

Factorization and Simplifying.
Homework Statement Use Factorization to simplify the given expression. Homework Equations (x^3 + 3x^2 + 3x +1)/(x^4 + x^3 + x + 1) The Attempt at a Solution I can't get to the first step. I forgot how to factor exponents higher than x^2.- AstrophysicsX

High School Is there really an infinite number of values between 0 and 1?
Is it true, that there is an infinite amount of numbers between 0-1? Think about it, what number comes after 0, and before 1? Whenever I try to think about it, my mind goes blank. Discuss.- AstrophysicsX

Why does it being lighter than air have anything to do with it floating upwards. Isn't mass supposed to be attracted to the Earth, therefore falling?- AstrophysicsX

Graduate Theorists predicted the big bang to expand faster than the speed of light
I've read that theorists predicted the big bang to expand faster than the speed of light. Is this true? If so, how can we say that nothing can travel faster than light today?- AstrophysicsX

Undergrad Distribution of planets material
Well, we know that most planets that are the close to the sun are usually really hot and rocky, and tend to have very tiny atmosphere, if at all. Going past the rocky planets you tend to see gas giants. I haven't heard of there being a natural distribution. It all depends on the mass and...- AstrophysicsX
