Relativity, and the half life of Muons
Hello all, Below I have a few questions regarding calculating the half life of muons. We measured how many muons were recorded at the top of a mountain, then measured how many muons were recorded at the bottom. Using this data, we calculated the half life of moving muons. Thanks for the...- babacanoosh

Solve lnx + ln(x+2) = ln3 | Math Problem
ok great i got it. Thanks a lot. But for some reason my answers are 3 and negative 1. Now i know that that would mean that the answer would only be 3 but the right answer is 1. Instead of getting a -1, 3...the right answer is -3, 1. I tried what you described, in the end getting x^2 +2x -3 Thanks- babacanoosh

Solve lnx + ln(x+2) = ln3 | Math Problem
1. lnx + ln(x+2) = ln3 2. just work the problem out using distributive property [b]3. ln2x = ln3-ln2 ln2x = .4054/b] ehh..I am just doing this one wrong. It is hard to believe what summer vacation can do to you - babacanoosh

How do I solve an exponential equation with different bases?
Hello all, I can't believe I having a hard time with this problem but...I am :cry:1. 2^(x^2) X 4^(2x) = 1/8 2. make the bases the same? 3. 2^(x^2) X 2^((2x)^2) = 1/8 2^(3x^(2)) = 1/8 3x^(2)log2=log1/8 (log1/8)/(log2) = 3x^(2) x^(2) = -1 I know I am doing it wrong. Any help would be greatly...- babacanoosh

sorry I'm really not sure how to do this one. the men wanting 3 chairs would be 6 different possibilities, and the women wanting 6 different possibilities would be 6 also. Given the alternate chairs restraint, would there be then 3 different combinations for men, and 3 different combinations...- babacanoosh

yes you are right about 480, must have typed in the wrong number :/ ok so would it be 2x2x6x5x4 = 480? I don't understand exactly why you would have the number 2 for both possibilities if putting q and u in the front.- babacanoosh
