To Ph.D or not to Ph.D (in physics, that is)
If you're asking the question solely because you would like people to see that you're a "physicist" and then drool in awe before you :bugeye: and I'd never be that selfish!- Benjamin113

To Ph.D or not to Ph.D (in physics, that is)
Good point. by "physicist," I meant a researcher who is known as a physicist (and I know that this definition has become very vague over the past century) who may or may not be a professor. the reason I ask is, I've seen many "Physicist" job descriptions saying that in order to be a physicist...- Benjamin113

To Ph.D or not to Ph.D (in physics, that is)
I know that one usually has to earn a Ph.D in Physics to be recognized as a Physicist (if they choose that career). How lenient is this? That is, how easy is it to be a Physicist with only an MS? Or does the usually in "usually has to earn a Ph.D" not mean anything?- Benjamin113

Undergrad Is Multiplication Really Just Repeated Addition?
I consider Multiplication to be grouping. it's true that it IS an extension of addition, but I don't like thinking of it that way. Consider the basic formula for Work : W = Fd what many physics students fail to understand is the concept behind the formula...that A force F is being applied to...- Benjamin113

Solving Perl Issues: Strawberry vs. ActivePerl
When I write the most basic of codes, it will not run, per se. Perhaps it was/is a syntax error? I'm just starting to learn Perl, so I'm not sure how exactly it (the syntax) is set up. Give me a sample line for me to run, and I'll see if it works. It might be as basic as a PRN issue as well- Benjamin113

Solving Perl Issues: Strawberry vs. ActivePerl
I don't know if this is the right forum to be asking this, but I have been having some problems with the Strawberry Perl that I downloaded. Whenever I try to write lines of code, it will not work, and it moves on to the next line, without an error comment, or anything. Is this because it is...- Benjamin113

Is Pursuing a Ph.D. in Physics Worth It?
I am a high school student with a strong interest/aptitude in Physics. Recently, I have been considering the possibility of earning (remember, this is hypothetical) a Ph. D in Physics, but I am not sure of what is required, or what the coursework is like (whenever I look online, I can never get...- Benjamin113

Graduate Elaboration on Superstring Theory
What is meant when one says that everything we see is the lowest vibrations of the strings (According to String Theory)? I understand the very fundamental concepts of this theory, like how it only works in 10 dimensions, but the above statement confuses me.- Benjamin113
