Why Do Physicists Seem More Adorable?

Click For Summary

Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the perceived adorableness of physicists compared to other STEM professionals, including mathematicians, engineers, and biologists. Participants express their affection for physics and physicists while also acknowledging other fields and their practitioners.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory
  • Conceptual clarification
  • Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • Some participants express love for physics and physicists, highlighting the joy of studying physics and interacting with physicists.
  • Others question the lack of appreciation for mathematicians, suggesting that mathematics and physics are closely related.
  • There are mentions of engineers and biologists, with mixed feelings about biologists compared to physicists and engineers.
  • One participant humorously suggests that the "cuteness" of scientists varies with the purity of their field, proposing that psychology students are often perceived as cuter than math students.
  • Another participant agrees with the idea that cuteness should not be over-analyzed and should simply be enjoyed.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants generally express affection for physicists, but there is disagreement regarding the cuteness of scientists in different fields, with no consensus on the validity of the claims made about adorableness.

Contextual Notes

The discussion includes subjective opinions and humorous remarks, which may not reflect broader views on the fields of study or their practitioners.

Engineers are awesome, but as for biologists, well, there's not much more to be said...

I love Physics. Being Physicist is too different with being an engineer. Physics has whole universe in itself. Can we live without Physics? Absolutely not. Life without Physics is impossible.

 So...so beautiful.

Average biologist is much more cute than average physicist.

The more pure the field of study, the less cute the scientist. That explains that most psychology students are cute women, and that most math students are not.

I think above remark displays my hobby quite well: over-analyzing situations.

I'd have to check your models first before I could comment on that.

Cuteness is not to be analyzed, cuteness is to be enjoyed.

Edit: you are on the dangerous road, soon you will assume all scientists are uniform spheres.
