Vector calculus. Divergent vector field.
I don't even know where to start this one. I can do all the other problems in the section, but this one makes no sense- carstensentyl

Curl about an elipse. Line integral of vector field
Thanks for the excellent reply. I did some integrating that was similar, but did not think that a line integral could be expressed in terms of t! There is no such example in our book, although I saw one such integral in a packet that our teacher handed us. Unfortunately, our book does not...- carstensentyl

Curl about an elipse. Line integral of vector field
Homework Statement It can be shown that the line integral of F = xj around a closed curve in the xy - plane, oriented as in Green's Theorem, measures the area of the region enclosed by the curve. (You should verify this.) Use this result to calculate the area within the region of the...- carstensentyl

Potential function of a gradient field.
Homework Statement For the vector field = -yi + xj, find the line integral along the curve C from the origin along the x-axis to the point (6, 0) and then counterclockwise around the circumference of the circle x2 + y2 = 36 to the point (6/sqrt(2), 6/sqrt(2)) . Give an exact answer...- carstensentyl

What Classes Should I Take at CC for Nuclear Engineering?
I have a few friends who are struggling with their math scores. What amazes me is that there are a lot of older men in my department, who had to relearn all of their math, up to differential equations. Many of them are now the highest-scoring individuals in our classes, thanks to their...- carstensentyl

What Classes Should I Take at CC for Nuclear Engineering?
I had a poor experience with community college transfer work. I would advise you to take as many classes as possible at the institution that will give you your degree. However, you could take some hard classes, like Calc II and Physics at the CC to keep that GPA near 4.- carstensentyl

Intellectual Highs: Experiencing the Feeling of Motivation to Study
Sometimes I get into the mode for a week or so, where I'm just focused on learning, and manage to sock in 16-hour days every weekday. Going into school at 7:30-8, and leaving at 11:30-12 at night. The strange thing about it is that when you work so hard all week, you lose all focus on the...- carstensentyl

Electrical Engineering Attitude Problem in India
Electricity and Magnetism is a common class for engineers. It usually requires a three lecture/one lab weekly schedule. It strikes me as very odd that they aren't giving it that much attention. If it really is as bad as you say, I think you might be dealing with a very underacheiving college...- carstensentyl

Should I make excuses about my GPA, or suck it up? (longish)
Yes sir. I intend to plan things around optimizing my GPA for now on. Also, I'm going to put some thought into coming up with methods to keep track of what I'm studying.- carstensentyl
