Thank you...obviously I was looking at the meanings incorrectly.
The answer is W=4390 Joules.
The way you worded your answer actually helps me with yet another problem I was having! Have a great day!
First of all...thanks for any help. This is ultrabasic introduction to therm, so I know everyone says that no question is stupid, but I just feel like I'm really missing the boat here.

Hi and thanks for checking this out! :)

Umm...you know what...you are absolutely right. Cos and sin are odd and positive. I work midnight shift and I posted it after not having sleep for quite some time.
As for the even powers, I'm moving on to that homework tonight.
Again, appreciate the help. This place is a gold mine of...
Duh...got it...I think.
Okay, thanks. It took a moment for it to sink in. When I substituted to try to get the two answers to equal up, I got \frac{1}{4} - \frac{1}{4} cos^{4}x
I see now that the extra \frac{1}{4} is just part of the constant of integration.
If that is a correct...
First off, thanks for your help. I feel like a dope because everything I'm doing looks correct to me, but my answer is not the same as the book or solution manual gives! I'm usually so good at finding my mistakes.
Thanks for taking the time to help.

I am very new to physics and am taking a my first University Physics class. This is not a call for a problem to be solved, but a clarification on terminology.
In solving problems for uniform circular motion, some problems call for the acceleration of the object (a=v^2/r) and others the...
I've used this sight to rate my professors in the past and have always been very honest. I'm an A student, so I don't have any reason to trash a teacher because of a bad grade.
Here are two of my most recent reviews:
From between being allowed "cheat sheets" with formulas to being able...
I'm following this quite carefully because I am at a crossroads myself as to major in mathematics or in physics. In the physics department at my college, "nearly all" of the full-time graduate students receive full financial support. However, I'm wondering what I could do with it.
I plan to...
