Alternative energy sources to generate electricity?

Hi there, I have a group project where we are to create (theoretically) a reliable power supply system for rural under developed areas in certain parts of the world. Now our task is under electrical engineering so it must be related to the power and ways to generate power, minimise the cost...

Extremely annoying question, average velocity related

Wait i think i finally got it...jeez i don't know why i make things like this so hard...the times, 20min and 10min, well i added them to get 30min and converted it to km/hr so i got 0.5...and that would end up being the time right? coz if you divide 12 by 0.5 you get 24 and 4 by 0.5 is 8, which...

Extremely annoying question, average velocity related

Homework Statement Ok so i have this simple question on a physics practice sheet, and because i don't get how the professor got his answers (answer are given) i have become confused and created this question into a difficult one. I am very annoyed when i can't get the exact same answer as the...

Switching from Computer Engineering to (quantum)Physics

I guess you don't know what your passion is until you get into it? :) And i am also interested in Nanotechnology, it seems like an even more promising future for that!

Switching from Computer Engineering to (quantum)Physics

Yes i understand how you feel. Maybe you can reassure yourself that this other interest you have, you can probably pursue it differently by reading more about it whilst studying what you currently are? Make it as some sort of hobby or such...

Switching from Computer Engineering to (quantum)Physics

I also like to see it in another way, if you have a passion for something, and if it's difficult in the beginning, i guess that passion and interest will force you to learn it even more.

Switching from Computer Engineering to (quantum)Physics

I understand exactly how you feel physicscrap! I too am so deeply interested in that whole idea of the universe and such. I always have been from a young age. And just like yourself, i too am able to understand what is being presented to me right at the moment, but afterwards, if i don't review...

    A question to Electrical Engineers

Thanks for that! Thanks chroot! I see why traveling is viewed as a disadvantage, but maybe working on a contract abroad would be better i assume. Well not that i would be out and about to find someone within the industry, but why do you say that engineering wouldn't be good for that? Less...

    A question to Electrical Engineers

Hello there, I'm seriously considering doing Electrical Engineering (and to branch out into Aerospace) but i still am not sure. I have a few questions if anyone could help me with them... Being an Electrical engineer, is it a job that allows you to travel and work over seas? Do you have free...

Did i find the derivative correctly?

Yeah we've learned the product rule, chain and all...just that we have to graph that, but doing it without a graphics calculator. I think i get it now.

Did i find the derivative correctly?

Aww i have to use the quotient rule?? *sigh* Well we didn't go that far:( More work! Thanks anyway!

Did i find the derivative correctly?

Hi there, Just wondering if i found dy/dx of (x+1)^2/1+x^2 = 2(x+1)/2x and also the second derivative d^2 y/dx^2=(x+1)/2 Is that correct?? I don't think it is.

    Mechanical or Aerospace engineering?

    hahaha yeah that'd work:p
