How does pipe diameter affect pressure in fluid flow?
I should point out, I do know how to calculate pressure loss across the length of a pipe. That is not what I am interested in.- DinjiP

How does pipe diameter affect pressure in fluid flow?
How does change in pipe diameter affect pressure? For example, ethylene in a 6" pipe at 400 psi, enters a 1" pipe. How does the pressure change? I am fairly sure that pressure decreases and velocity increases. However, I need to know how pressure decreases? At what rate? Is it linear?- DinjiP

Cfd - familiar with ANSYS Fluent or CFX?
Cfd -- familiar with ANSYS Fluent or CFX? Is anyone here familiar with ANSYS Fluent or CFX? I have some questions about creating a simulation of subsonic flow over an airfoil. I have done the Cornell University tutorial. I then moved on to try simulating different arifoils, in particular S809...- DinjiP

I am really interested in NASA, but after doing a little research on starting salaries I quickly became concerned. If this website is correct (http://nasajobs.nasa.gov/jobs/entrypay.htm ), NASA starting salaries are almost half of what I am expecting from my other potential offers. Before...- DinjiP

Hiring Engineers: What Skills Do Employers Look For?
Thank you for your input meanrev. I think I am naturally intellectual curious and I also believe I have a strong willingness to learn. I suppose I should ask you, how do you know you have found that kind of person? Is it a gut feeling or something you look for on the resume? Maybe a combination...- DinjiP

Hiring Engineers: What Skills Do Employers Look For?
Thank you for your response Phinds. You are indeed correct, soft skills are incredibly important. Every interview I have had, except one, was behavioral. This is typically not very hard for me as I have had many experiences working in teams before I went back to school. The problem is I tend to...- DinjiP

Hiring Engineers: What Skills Do Employers Look For?
Hello everyone, I am new here and this is my first post. I am in my early 30's and I am a senior in mechanical engineering. I will be graduating in December of this year and I want to make the most of the time I have left in school. I am also looking to have an edge, since I am older than most...- DinjiP
