Mythology/magical tradition question
Yes. The reason for that is that I think it could be pretty cool to find some obscure ritual magic tradition and actually make it work in a game demo. That's sort of the whole point, aside from exploring machine learning algorithms (HMAX/HTM/HHMM/etc).- dmtr

Mythology/magical tradition question
Hmm... Dance enactment? Interesting. The trouble is it wouldn't fit into the game demo implementation. I need something small, more like hand movements - gestures. Again, that's for a game demo trivia. To give you better idea onto what I'm trying to do - currently I have a kind of simplified...- dmtr

Mythology/magical tradition question
Uh, that's not exactly what I'm looking for. What I'm trying to find is some folklore that exploits a kind of synchronicity concept. Specifically a kind that uses the following idea: 1) Given: more or less random natural phenomena; 2) Wizard: doing (or even observing) some actions in sync with...- dmtr

Mythology/magical tradition question
Anybody knows some magical tradition that uses body movements synchronous with some natural phenomena? Something like the following example: randomly moving fire, a 'wizard' starts moving his hands to match the fire movement patterns, some time passes, fire starts moving matching the 'wizard'...- dmtr

Graduate Micron sized object observed in quantum state
AFAIK a classical bit is pretty much a state of entanglement between an observer and some microscopic or macroscopic object. For example you can set a spin of an electron to |up> and it would stay for you |up>, as a classical bit (because of an entanglement between you and the spin of that...- dmtr

Graduate Micron sized object observed in quantum state
Nope. You can't. With any classical memory and MWI you are going to run into the Tegmark's quantum immortality paradox. One classical bit is enough. Once a classical bit is initialized to '1' there is always going to be a 'branch' where this bit is still '1'...- dmtr

Graduate Causal entropic principle / entropic principle
Can somebody comment on the following paper: http://arxiv.org/abs/hep-th/0702115" Here are some (disrespectful?) comments in the blogosphere: http://resonaances.blogspot.com/2007/08/entropic-principle.html" As I was able to understand the paper, this 'entropic principle' was applied to...- dmtr

Can a Square Wave at 500 kHz and 2.5 kV Be Achieved?
It's possible. You are trying to build high voltage pulsed power supply (pulse generator). High voltage/high frequency switches are commercially available. For example: http://www.behlke.de/ And here is an article in which a similar square impulse generator (2Mhz/several kV) was designed...- dmtr

John A. Wheeler and his participatory universe comes to mind. And he was one of the greatest. Feynman and Everett mentor, no less. So I'd say maybe. An immediate question would be https://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=359259" you observe events happening approximately 13 billion...- dmtr
