Is black hole a racially insensitive term?
Is "black hole" a racially insensitive term? http://blogs.chron.com/sciguy/archives/2008/07/is_black_hole_a.html July 09, 2008 Is "black hole" a racially insensitive term? Apparently to some. Harnessing energy of a rotating mass
Is it possible to harness some of the kinetic energy of a rotating mass to convert it to electricity? More to the point... If I wanted to put a light on a bicycle wheel, is there any way to power the light using the uniform accelerated circular motion of the wheel? Or are the gains of...- freerangequark

Lightest diesel engine known to man
Gas Model Helicopter engines are the same as airplane engines, except for maybe a larger head/heatsink. There are also 4 stroke glo-engines and their fuel is slightly different. I don't know of any that run on Diesel fuel. -FRQ- freerangequark

Lightest diesel engine known to man
The 2-stroke model airplane engine is an internal combustion engine usually burning 'glow' or 'nitro' fuel consisting mostly of alcohol with nitromethane to help combustion and castor oil for lubrication of the metal parts The two stroke principle means that there is fuel ignition on every...- freerangequark

Lightest diesel engine known to man
Not sure if you meant Diesel as in Diesel fuel, or in principle. Small model airplane engines have a glow plug and ignite from the heat generated during compression. I have seen them as small as .020" Cubinc Displacement, but they don't burn Diesel Fuel. -FRQ- freerangequark

High School Is Zero an Even or Odd Number: Debunking the Myth
The dispute was along the same lines as the question of whether 1 is a prime number or not. Another dispute I read is whether zero is a number at all and therefore eligible to receive an even or odd tag.- freerangequark

High School Is Zero an Even or Odd Number: Debunking the Myth
Is Zero an even or odd number, or neither? The common answer I have found seems to focus on the fact that you can evenly divide by two. However there is a bit of dispute whether this is accurate or not. Can anyone offer clarification on this? Thanks!- freerangequark

Space Shuttle SRB Cutoff and separation
When a space shuttle launches, how is simultaneous SRB cutoff assured so as not to create an asymmetrical thrust situation? (assuming that SRB cutoff occurs prior to separation). Thanks, FRQ- freerangequark

Stargazing Viewing Saturn from a 6 telescope
You'll know Saturn when you see it. It won't be very large in your field of view; fairly small infact... a dull yellow in color. The rings will be obvious at times and much more difficult to see if the viewing angle is edge on. I don't know what the current angle is relative to Earth.- freerangequark

Where can I find low-profile multi-axis rocker switches or joysticks?
This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but perhaps it can steer you in the right direction... http://www.3dconnexion.com/ You might be able to find something on this manufacturer's website... http://www.happcontrols.com/ -FRQ- freerangequark

Graduate An way to visualize dark matters effects on space-time?
I thought the analogy was saying that mass dictates how spacetime curves, and the resultant curvature tells matter how to move within spacetime. No? Thanks, FRQ- freerangequark

Graduate An way to visualize dark matters effects on space-time?
In an attempt to explain space-time curvature and gravity, the analogy of a flat rubber sheet is often used whereas a massive object, such as a bowling ball indents the sheet in the same way that a massive object such as a star creates curvature in space time. Would it be a fair analogy...- freerangequark
