Why Use IRAF? The Benefits of This Powerful Image Processing Tool

Really? I kind assumed IRAF was a little older than that and the first. I have read some user guides talking about images stored on magnetic tape... Guess I'm just jealous of some of the (all be it expensive) "amateur" software with the pretty GUIs. Is there a reason IRAF is better than those?

    Linear Algebra: Understanding max(x,y) in x \oplus y

yep exactly that is very helpful! So you think that max(1,2)=2? for example? The full problem defines scalar multiplication normally and then gives that operation over Reals and asks if it is a vector space.

    Linear Algebra: Understanding max(x,y) in x \oplus y

Not sure if this is the best place for this, its not an entire problem I am having trouble with but a small part of one. I am working on linear algebra and I can't find a good explanation for x \oplus y= max(x,y) What or of max is it? Additive, multiplicative? Thank you so much been...

Solve Lorentz Transformation Homework: Find t When t'=10s

Homework Statement A clock is moving past us at speed v=\frac{c}{2} reads t^{'}=0 when our clock read t=0. Using the Lorentz tranformation, find out what our clock will read when the moving clock reads 10s. Homework Equations t=\gamma(x^{'}+\frac{Vt^{'}}{c^{2}}) The Attempt at a...

How Far Does a Ball Fall Vertically in Projectile Motion?

yep, and then what is the acceleration of the ball?

How Far Does a Ball Fall Vertically in Projectile Motion?

yes that is wrong. That is the Vox, what is the Voy if the ball is thrown horizontally?

How Far Does a Ball Fall Vertically in Projectile Motion?

probably not what are you using for Vy at t=0? and if y=0 at the pitchers release what direction is acceleration in the y direction?

How Far Does a Ball Fall Vertically in Projectile Motion?

Sorry, ok so you know how long it takes for the ball to get from release to home. It travels a distance in the -y direction in that time. Thats what your looking for.
