Is the Power of Two Sets Theorem Valid in Introductory Real Analysis?
It looks like you are dealing with basic set theory here. A good, very readable, and fascinating exposition is Naive Set Theory by Halmos. Enjoy. I did; I found it mind-stretching. It's another old book, by the way.- Hendrik Boom

Understanding Grids and Units in Computer Graphics and Physics Simulations
OpenGL exists on a variety of platforms; DirectX is Microsoft only. So if you or your users might ever want to run your code on, say, Linux, you'd want to be using OpenGL. Vulkan is new. I'm not familiar with it, but I don't know how widely available it is.- Hendrik Boom

Understanding Grids and Units in Computer Graphics and Physics Simulations
He's an entertaining lecturer even though he just sits there, programs, and talks about what he's doing. You don't have to pay the ten dollars or so for access to his github archive of all the code; you can just type everything in off the video, though I've found myself wondering sometimes what...- Hendrik Boom

Understanding Grids and Units in Computer Graphics and Physics Simulations
If you really want to see what's going on, learn to program it yourself. I can recommend the excellent series "games with go", which is currently appearing on twitch, and is archived on youtube. https://gameswithgo.org/ It goes all the way from simple text adventures to full 3D graphics...- Hendrik Boom

High School Why Do Some People Struggle with Math?
Exactly right. Symbolic integration *is* a puzzle. Lots of puzzles. Treat them like that, see how many you can figure out. The ones posed in textbooks usually have solutions. The ones in real life can sometimes only be solved by numerical approximation.- Hendrik Boom

High School Why Do Some People Struggle with Math?
"As a game" is the only way I've found to approach math. Otherwise the easier stuff gets too boring to hold my attention and the harder stuff too frustrating. But as a whole set of challenges there are always a few I can figure out. Finding those is a good route to learning. In a video game...- Hendrik Boom

Mastering Double Angle Identities: Solving -2sin3θ+1=0
It can't be an identity, because when I substitute 90 degrees for theta it comes out to - 8 - 6 + 1 = 0. What is it you are supposed to do? Solve for theta?- Hendrik Boom

Studying Class average for my physics mid-term was 8/30, Seriously
I was once regrading an exam on which the students had to answer 5 out of 6 questions. The student had attempted six questions and completely flubbed one. That was the one the other grader had counted toward the total. The grader had completely ignored the correctly answered final question...- Hendrik Boom

Studying Class average for my physics mid-term was 8/30, Seriously
If it's a question of what an integral means,. I suggest you get a copy of a very old book, Mathematician's Delight, by Sawyer. It's has chapters explaining what various elementary mathematics subjects are about. Most of it is grade school stuff, but it does get into calculus. It won't teach...- Hendrik Boom

High School Does anyone know how to measure the color of a Post-It note?
Yes, lighting. Back in the 60's I was at a party where different parts of the room were illuminated with different colours of lights. My girlfriend had red eyes under a green light and green eyes under a red light. Complicated, indeed!- Hendrik Boom
