How do mass and density relate in iron blocks when volume changes?
a block of iron defined by parameters mass, volume and density.when volume is doubled, the mass is also doubled;but the density of doubled volume of iron block remains the same.how do you distinguish the parameters mass and density.give any example (may be 2 or 3),so that i can understand well...- jaan

High School Why Does Moon's Gravitational Force Overcome Earth's?
This question was asked by a Std 9 student, and has me foxed. Since the Earth is so much more massive than the moon, and its centre much closer to the surface, isn't the Earth's pull on the water much stronger than the moon's? Then how is it that the moon can cause Earth's water to rise to... -

Undergrad Where Do Newton's Laws Fail in Explaining Momentum Changes Without Force?
i didn't mean that  my question was 'how can a particles momentum change without the application of force'.i know that generalised coordinates were the advantage of legrangian mechanics which made mechanics easier. just quote me an example where we cannot apply Newtons laws... -

Undergrad Where Do Newton's Laws Fail in Explaining Momentum Changes Without Force?
iam really searching for the answer where does Newtons laws fail.i came to know that in some cases without the application of force there may be change in the momentum of the particle.how can this happen .can anyone quote the example. what is a virtual work and how could it be possible... -
