High School Why do people wear black in the desert?
It's probably a bad idea to wear black robes but there must be some reason. All I can say is that most of the pictures I have seen show people wearing light colors.- James Leighe

Graduate The Quark Epoch and the Existence of Space and Mass
I don't understand, what's the question again? I'm not sure about if particles like quarks had mass or not, they probably did. I don't think the higgs field would have been any different nor the 'couplings' to it of the various particles. But I could be wrong there, and we don't even really...- James Leighe

Graduate The Quark Epoch and the Existence of Space and Mass
Massless particles will travel at c. Just because you can't construct a rest frame for one of the particles does not mean that you can't construct any frame at all.- James Leighe

Graduate Infinity & Particles: Can They Really Travel at the Speed of Light?
Photons have zero mass, and because of that they must always be in motion. Zero is a very achievable number! Like x + 5 = 5, what is x? You can't DIVIDE by zero however.- James Leighe

High School Does Light Travel Forever or Eventually Fade Away?
I'm going to assume you mean a flashlight. In that case the photons will travel forever until they get absorbed. They will also lose energy over extremely long periods of time due to the expansion of the universe, but will never 'dissapear'.- James Leighe

Are you talking about an electric/magnetic field (ie a magnet) or light (ie a flashlight)?- James Leighe

How to magnetize water using super magnet?
From the website: "After magnetization, the molecules line up in sequence “+-+-“ resulting in reduced surface tension, reduced viscosity, increased dissolvability, increased permeability and increased oxygen content hence making nutrients more readily available to our body, plants and soils...- James Leighe

High School Difference between volume displaced fluid and volume of the object
Only if the object is fully submerged. If the object floats, it will only displace water equal to the volume of the submerged portion.- James Leighe

Undergrad Questions about Galileo statement?
The gravitational field of the hammer would attract the moon, so the moon would move closer to the hammer, which would also make it move closer to the feather! So Galileo's statement still holds.- James Leighe

How physicists handle the idea of Free Will?
Just because you can't predict your actions doesn't mean they are free will, which is an important point made early on. But in reality, unless you set up some kind of special case, the brain is too large to even be effected by quantum 'randomness'.- James Leighe
