Undergrad A question about resonant frequency
hello, I'm a first year science undergrad, currently learning about mechanics and waves and so on there's this vine that's been going around, which shows someone playing a harp - here is the video in question; I personally find it quite beautiful and fascinating. Apparently the phenomena is...- jebii

Finding displacement with acc and vel
I'm working on a problem involving pulleys and would appreciate help. I know the initial starting positions of both objects (0.3 m above ground) and their initial velocity which is zero. The question wants me to find the maximum height the lighter object can achieve - i.e. its height even after...- jebii

Graduate Train thought experiment confusion
Thank you for the answers, it cleared up a lot of things. I am in high school so the maths is beyond me, however I can see that there is logical reasoning behind the solution. At least I'll have something to look forward to studying in the future haha.- jebii

Graduate Train thought experiment confusion
I'm seeing examples where for the person in the train the offset of both lights at the end of the train are not seen as simultaneous, while for the observer on the platform it is seen as simultaneous - and vice versa from other sources. What's going on? Furthermore, if my school textbook is...- jebii

Concerned about my intelligence / math ability
My advice is don't worry about it. In order to think outside the box you have to have a thorough understanding of it first, i.e. lots of mechanical learning. Take Picasso for example; he is very famous for his crazy 'outside the box style', however he did not even begin to create this style...- jebii

Graduate Can an electron be in more than two places at once?
Forgive me if this is a dumb question; from what I've been reading an electron can exist simultaneously in two places. Is this definite? Why can/can't it exist in more forms?- jebii

Programs Double degree in physics/visual arts unwise?
I haven't thought of that, thanks. WHOOPS I thought it meant something different, my bad. From what I've gathered companies don't need your degree, just a good portfolio. I don't know what I want to do with my life yet, so I'll keep an open mind. Thanks.- jebii

Programs Double degree in physics/visual arts unwise?
I'm honestly surprised they're offering it in the first place, but there you go. First thing is I'm equally passionate about both art and physics, because they're an approach into understanding how the world works. i.e. knowledge makes me ridiculously happy. I've been engaging and reading...- jebii
