Schools Is University of Toronto a Good Choice for Physics Undergrad?

Toronto is probably a more exciting place to go to school compared to most other cities in Ontario (think Hamilton, K-W, Guelph, Kingston)

B in physics 1 (basic freshman mechanics) = bad?

think it's safe to say you're fine

Graduating with a BA in physics, options?

IMO it's almost always a better idea for high school students to go into engineering (vs physics). It's usually easier to switch into physics from engineering, especially at schools that are heavily departmentalized (ie they have a faculty of science and a faculty of engineering) There's also...

What impact can overlooking location have on university applicants?

In all seriousness, i wish i would've done a campus visit or something. Academics isn't everything. Guess I'm almost there though...two.5 more years... haaa

What impact can overlooking location have on university applicants?

I think this is something that university applicants DO NOT LOOK INTO ENOUGH. I was an idealistic high school student at one time, chasing after the "best program". Look at me now! I'm stuck going to school in suburban hell! HAHAHAHA

Did I Just Encounter a Gaggle of Rabid Meese?

Students, how do you pick your electives?

i've noticed that course sequences are not as rigid in the arts. You can opt to take second or third year courses that have no prerequisites if you dare i know people who will be taking nothing but math and physics courses throughout their entire undergrad careers, which is somewhat absurd...

Students, how do you pick your electives?

I went for a English Lit. course this term, and even though i liked most of it, i wrote the final yesterday and i can tell my mark in it is going to be crap. The course load was much lighter than my math courses, but it was harder to get a decent mark on anything. Not sure if this is something...

Students, how do you pick your electives?

Be honest. When you choose your electives to fulfill your liberal arts requirements, do you go for the easy first-year level courses with the multiple-choice final, or do you pick them based on your interest in the subject?

Choosing a University: Math vs. Physics & Relevant Courses for Physicists | Blog

i'm not sure how being trained as a mathematician would make you a better physicist than if you went to school for physics. a double major in math and physics is always possible, if that's your thing. of course it's way too early for you to be feeling that you HAVE to choose between math and...

Choosing a University: Math vs. Physics & Relevant Courses for Physicists | Blog

most places that will give you a quality education in math will do the same for you in physics and vice versa.. "is it is easier for a mathematician to pick up relevant physics or for a physicist to pick up relevant mathematics?" the reason why you don't see an explicit answer for this is...
