Let X be a uniform integrable function, and g be a continuous function. Is is true that g(X) is UI?
I don't think g(X) is UI, but I have trouble finding counter examples.
Thanks.
Hi all,
I wonder if the following are equivalent.
1) E(|X|) < infinity
2) I(|X| > n) goes to 0 as n goes to infinity (I is the indicator function)
3) P(|X| > n) goes to 0 as n goes to infinity.
1) => 2) and 2) => 3) are easy to see, please help me to show 2) => 1) and 3) => 2)...
Hi guys, I have a question.
E(|X|) < infinity iff E|X|I(|X| > n) -> 0 as n goes to infinity, where I is the indicator function.=> this direction is easy and I have it solved.
I wonder if anyone has any idea of how to deal with <=. Thanks.
Hi all,
I read the following:
"If g(t) starts with a delta function of strength Y/2, then..."
I wonder what that means. Does it mean g(t) = 0.5Yδ(t) ?
Thanks
i have to make a mouse trap car in physics class and calculate a several things afterward. Anyone can help me to calculate the engergy stored n mouse trap based on measurements, ideal machanical advantages and percent efficiency. The mouse trap produces 5N at a 90 degree angle and 11N at a 180...
