Intuitive ways to think of integration and second derivative
Hi there, Maddie. We have the same sentiments way back my undergraduate years. I tend to solve or study things I can not realistically appreciate, thus I think of calculus as out of this world concept and certainly one of my greatest burden and hardships way back then. Lately, I learned that... -
Power requirement to turn blade in free air
Your thread does not fit any more to the topic. I suggest you read and study Engineering Strength of Materials, specifically about "stress and/or fatigue" on a rotating disc or propeller.- Legolaz

Power requirement to turn blade in free air
Sounds unsafe to me testing with very little knowledge about a rotating mechanism which could end up in a fatality and destruction both property and life. I strongly recommend not to test at all. Do not deal with things you are not well equipped and able to do. Invest more in knowledge first...- Legolaz

Normal and Tangential Component of Vector on a Surface
Yes Mark44, I understood and assume the ones I generally mentioned as "vectors" is referring to Force and Velocity gradients. I mean, summing up vectors normal and tangential to the surface. -
Normal and Tangential Component of Vector on a Surface
The resultant vector of all the tangent and the normal on the surface. Nope, not yet. -
Holes as positive charge carriers in semiconductors
They come in pairs, married to one another if and only if additional energy is applied. You may think this way with the figure, the atomic model : Stable elements usually has the same number of electrons, protons and nuetrons. Electrons around the orbitals are fixated or attracted by opposite...- Legolaz

Normal and Tangential Component of Vector on a Surface
Thank you for the reply, Steamking. Say, I got now the the normal equation for the surface, my tangential would be the 2nd derivative of the gradient function, right? My next problem is, I want to sum up all Normal and Tangential vectors on the surface, so that I may find the net or resultant... -
Normal and Tangential Component of Vector on a Surface
Hello, given the figure above, how do I get the tangential and normal components of a vector in any plane by integration? -
Power requirement to turn blade in free air
You may start with Kinetic energy (KE=1/2mv2) of the wind which would pass through the projected circular area of your blade. Say area on the blade is A = π(D2-d2)/4 Flow rate of wind passing through that projection is Q = Av (m3/sec) & ρ = m'/Q. Combining these equations will give you...- Legolaz

Pumped hydoelectric storage equation problem
Archimedes Screw is ideally applicable to Low Head, High flow reservoirs. For high heads and high flow reservoir, ideal is the impulse and mix flow type of turbine. 200 m is very high elevation indeed.- Legolaz

Pumped hydoelectric storage equation problem
Easy, Net Work rate =Net Powerhydroplant= Pturbine-Ppump If you are interested with Hydro Plant Efficiency = Net Powerhydroplant/Pturbine Efficiency means what you get from the total effort you exert or gain over capital. I hope this helps.- Legolaz

Light and Heat Generation of Elements
But different material lit different frequencies of spectrum at corresponding temperatures, right? Thus, there must be a material fit for its purpose, to give off light the most but less heat.- Legolaz

Light and Heat Generation of Elements
My apology for the lacking info, consider this simple presentation of what I meant (see figure) How much proportions of heat and light are being generated from the total dissipated energy of the load? Is there a model which predicts how much proportions of heat is being generated and proportions...- Legolaz

How Do You Calculate the Surface Area of a Helix?
Yes, i apologize for the lacking info Mark44 and do understand my english, simply because its not my native tongue, it sounds rude and inappropriate sometimes though. -
Light and Heat Generation of Elements
Hi forum, Is there anyway to quantify the proportions of light and heat energy generated from an element? I mean, is there a model which we can use to predict material energy conversion proportions when a voltage potential is applied to it.? Further, is the model able to predict material...- Legolaz
