that you've ever heard?
Was watching an old episode of QI the other night and came across drapetomania, which is utterly shocking.
Have heard a lot of nonsense being passed off as science in the past, what's the most ridiculous you've heard?
I'm in the UK and unfortunately our education system isn't as flexible as that in the US. We specialise at 16 which in my opinion is far too early. I would hate to teach something I'm passionate about to kids/young adults who couldn't care less about maths or physics.
Mine have always been brilliant but I'm a mature student. One professor did admit that its disheartening when they get younger students that have no real interest in physics but are taking it to get high paid work or their parents have pushed them into it.
I didn't go to uni at 18 and instead worked then had my two kids. I am now studying again but feel old and left behind. I have also struggled getting the balance between the kids and my courses right. I either feel like a crap student or a crap mum.

So much water gets wasted by burst pipes any idea would have to save a household money rather than being concerned with saving a...
This is a good idea.
People always talk about reusing grey water from baths and showers. I always thought it would be a good idea to channel it to a water butt outside of my house. When I did some research I found that the water could only be stored for about a day without treating it so I...
Have you looked at the maths and physics learning resources?
I can't think of any site, I tend to use the problems that are posted on this site (homework section?) and then check my answers against the other users.
I haven't graduated yet but I was advised not to specialize early on. I still don't know what I want to do, I am currently toying with the idea of doing a phd.
Living in space is a very interesting topic. You could dress up, wrap food in foil etc.Might be too much about human biology though.
I did watch a lecturer years ago demonstrate the wobble seen by stars with planets by holding hands with a much larger person and both spinning round. Might be...

If not then like everyone else has said books or prints are always nice.
