Two nested solenoids and their magnetic fields

    a) is pretty clear and got correct but b) I'm struggling with. For b) I guess one could take the derivative of I and specify the moment t when you can plug that into Faraday's law. Or could this be solved somehow with inductance?

Magnetic field of a current loop

It seems the B equation is for its x-directed component. To derive B just need the angle. Solved.

Magnetic field of a current loop

I’m not passing the grader with the above answer.

Magnetic field of a current loop

This should be pretty straightforward and my take gives B = 0.000193*T for a) and B = 0.00000063 T for b). Or have I misunderstood something?

    Electric field of non-conducting cylinder

True, thanks for spotting. Keyboard always trickier than pen & paper.

    Electric field of non-conducting cylinder

Actually I had it right, just had it rounded wrong. No need for integrals here. In b) the proportion was opposite / complement of what my intuition said.

    Electric field of non-conducting cylinder

My checking says yes it does but I'm probably wrong.

    Electric field of non-conducting cylinder

    a) I have calculated (1) λ = ρA = ρπr^2 = 2.49 * 10^-10 C/m and placed it into (2) yielding E = λ / (2πεx^2) = 106.73 N/C. This doesn't seem to be correct by the feedback, however. b) Here just to consider the proportion of the cylinder mass constrained by y.
