Where can i get a mechanical engineer for prototype
I need a prototype built. The main design I have sorted out but need the engineer to tweak it here and there. I've tried googling it and the results are top companies which are very expensive, is there anywhere I could find an individual who can do this work for me? Or would any of yiu guys...- manp

Decreasing strength of magnet by weights
I just realized why i couldn't do the above method, i need to use a spherical magnet lol any other ideas? The task is part of my project in physics class- manp

Decreasing strength of magnet by weights
time delayed action;4794155]Nonsense. Just use a weaker electric field. The main advantage here is that you can, in principle, shape the electric field to provide the correct amount of balancing force for the magnet everywhere. You would face the same problem as with the weights - the...- manp

Decreasing strength of magnet by weights
I thought about that too and binding a magnet just under the metal piece but i want there to be an attractive force too so if i put a charge on it itl just be repulsion Could buoyancy work in any way?- manp

Decreasing strength of magnet by weights
Yeh that's what I need, I would like to apply a force to the metal that's constant to the strength of attraction is there any way to do this?- manp

Mechanical leverage to increase length?
Thanks for the ideas, I've tried all of them but there's too much friction and energy loss I am creating.- manp

Decreasing strength of magnet by weights
Hi all I've been trying to use weights, springs and elastic bands to basically decrease the bonding of a piece of metal and magnet. Basically what I am trying to achieve is as the magnet attracts the metal i want the attraction to weighed down consistently, but I am failing to do this as the...- manp

Mechanical leverage to increase length?
Thanks for the replies...i thought there'd be np solutions. Is there any other way except gears, levers? With minimal friction, energy loss?- manp

Mechanical leverage to increase length?
Hi Im trying to increase the length of a movement of a rope so when one rope is pulled the other rope movement is increased x 2 (it is attached across). So far i have tried gears whice has somewhat worked but it increases the force as well. Is there any other way to achieve this amplification...- manp

Is There a Spring That Doubles Energy in the First Half?
Is there a type of spring that stores the energy of the whole spring and displaces the whole energy into on the first half of the spring? So basically doubling up the energy into the first half. There probably isn't but its worth a try to see if there is.- manp

Rod that slides up easily but slowly on way down
Thanks all, I've got a superb idea now, I am going down the ratchet route although a hydraulic type pump was also a good idea but takes up a small amount of pull energy due to the tight conceals I would've had to put around it. Whereas with the ratchet design I'm thinking of there would be...- manp

Rod that slides up easily but slowly on way down
I'm sort of stuck on a fiddly point at the moment. I'm trying to make a rod go upwards with ease but slow down on the way down (or even stop for a few seconds) when it has been completely let go by the pulling action (without any external energy). Anyone have any clues of how I can achieve this...- manp
