Engineering What can I do with a degree in physics/engineering/nuclear
Okay thankyou for the input! Would you be able to point me to a field that would be more likely to hire physicists. I'll say I intend to go to grad school for nuclear engineering but am trying to assess all my options.- mike232

Engineering What can I do with a degree in physics/engineering/nuclear
Would this exclude me from any mechanical engineering jobs? Is it uncommon to hire physics engineering majors for engineering/similar jobs?- mike232

Engineering What can I do with a degree in physics/engineering/nuclear
I am almost done with a BS in physics with focus in nuclear engineering and engineering. My classes have been all the normal BS physics classes as well as nuclear physics with kranes book, two classes with Lamarsh's books on nuclear engineering as well as the blue bible (deuterstadt and...- mike232

Programs Starting a Nuclear Program, trying to get the news out.
So my professor is working with the staff involved for this. I am wanting to try and help spread this in "non-conventional" ways. I will be putting it on Facebook because that is simple, but I would like to try and get this out on all sorts of message boards and what not but I'm trying to find a...- mike232

Programs Starting a Nuclear Program, trying to get the news out.
I'm a student at Purdue University Northwest and we recently started a Nuclear Physics program and I want to help get the news out but I don't know how. Currently I am the only student in the program, but we are trying to grow it. My professor for all things Nuclear is talking to the ANS...- mike232

A proof for a given formula of a normalization constant phi4
The professor just assigned a couple 9 10 questions from a book we never really use. That does make sense about working back, it was just a shot in the dark. My professor has never assigned straight "normal" work. It's always abstract questions like this, so it can be more like a graduate level...- mike232

A proof for a given formula of a normalization constant phi4
I don't have anything for /phi other than the question. So I don't know to check to see if it normalized when I don't have an equation. Now I do know that my norm constant should be found by normalizing some function like... < /phi | /phi > But I do have notes and the whole Internet, I can't...- mike232

A proof for a given formula of a normalization constant phi4
I am given that general formula for the normalization constant phi_n. I am asked to show that this gives correct normalization for phi_4 That is all I have.- mike232

A proof for a given formula of a normalization constant phi4
Homework Statement Show that phi_n will find the proper phi_4. IE: show that it gives the correct normalization constant. Richard Liboff...chapter 7 Homework Equations A_n = (2^n * n! * pi^1/2)^-1/2 The Attempt at a Solution I don't know where to start really. I tried some things with <...- mike232

Quantum 1D box obtain an expression for the normalization constant
The only measurable results are the eigenvalues associated with the operator... but I don't know how that helps because zero is a valid result.- mike232
