How Does a Pulley with a Mechanical Advantage of 2 Affect Force?
Mechanical Advantage : Please Help! hello if there was a pulley, mechanical advantage of 2, and the force of the weights dangling below the pulley was 20N. to find the 'upward' force, or force of the pulley would it be 20N multiply by 2, due to mechanical advantage, making it 40N or...- moomoocow

Work Input vs Work Output in Pulley Systems
hello again, i know that in an ideal pulley system, work input is equal to work output..however in reality, that is not possible due to friction but what confuses me is that within what percentage is work input=work output? how are we supposed to find the percentage? thank you!- moomoocow

Acceleration and friction force
hi! if i were to push a carton, and the friction force was 200 Newtons.. how much force would i have to exert so the box is accelerating at 2m/s/s? i don't know how to calculate it because the mass of the carton is not given..anysuggestions?- moomoocow

What Are the Limits of an Experiment?
hello if i did an experiment, and a question was asked: 'Within what limits have you shown that...' what do the limits mean? do they mean like within the time frame, or like temperature, friction...etc?- moomoocow

Action/reaction pair Newton's law
hi i have a question if in a question, and they ask, action/reaction pair of the force lets say a man is swimming..and they say name the action/reaction pair of the force, of the force that causes the man to accelerate..how would i reply?- moomoocow

Why is initial velocity confusing during free fall?
the ball is thrown vertically, displacement being the change in distance. oksanav: why is it that If a ball is dropped or released then its V0 is 0?, but then why would the v-t graph show 20m/s at 0 seconds?- moomoocow

Why is initial velocity confusing during free fall?
initial velocity confusion! please help! hello all, i am slightly confused about initial velocity during free fall if a ball is being thrown in the air, and the velocity time graph shows 20m/s at 0 seconds, and -20m/s at 4 seconds, which is when the ball drops if i want to calculate the...- moomoocow

Motion detector graphs, distance vs time
hi! a ball is dropped from a height of 1 meter above the floor. Take the origin to be the point from which the ball is released. would the graph be like a curved graph rising to the right starting from the origin? how would the graph look like if a car is parked on a steep hill? thank you- moomoocow

Pendulum mass and Newton's second law
hello:) i have a question: if i changed the mass of the ball on the pendulum, i assume that Changing the mass of the ball would not change the period of the pendulum because gravity pulls objects towards Earth at the same speed regardless of their mass. however Newton's second law says that...- moomoocow
