Small signal analysis of a cascode amplifier
Hello there. I am stuck trying to figure out the voltage gain of a cascode amplifier from a small signal analysis. The circuit seems to be under-determined for reasons I do not understand or maybe I am missing the perfectly obvious. Here's my small signal model: The only relation I can...- mulothecook

What dominates the high-freq. behavior of a CS-amplifier?
Hello there. I am taking a closer look at the small-signal behavior of a common source amplifier with active load (see image) and I wonder which capacitances cause the decrease in gain for high frequencies (beyond 106 Hz). I do not know about the magnitudes of the input and output capacitances...- mulothecook

Why is the 'active load' in an CS-amp called a load?
Ah okay, thanks a lot. To put it in in simple words: the load is in fact a load, but with respect to the NMOS current source.- mulothecook

Why is the 'active load' in an CS-amp called a load?
Hi there. Could somebody please explain to me why this circuit is referred to as 'common source amplifier with active load'? From my understanding a load would be something external that is attached between the output and the ground terminals. For example a resistor attached to a voltage source...- mulothecook

Understanding the LM2576 Step-Down Regulator
Hi, I am working on a little electronics project where I need to convert 15V DC to 5V DC. I was hinted at the LM2576 (datasheet) because it is easy to use and has a built in current limit which is just what I need. The functional block diagram (p12) has a nice display of the internals of the...- mulothecook
