Biot-Savart current loop equation confusion?
Hello, I am having a bit of a problem with this classic example. I know about the symmetry but I would like to push through the math anyway. The field point is at distance Z from loop on Z axis. Using cylindrical coordinates I am at: dH = I*(rho)d(phi)*a(phi) X (z*az - rho*a(rho)) /...- neg_ion13

Difference between Power Amp and Preamp?
I can answer a couple of your questions. The preamp amplifies what is called a low level signal like a guitar pickup, turntable cartridge or microphone signal. These are typically very low like 3mV. The preamp amplifies the signal to line level and provides filtering, ie tone control. The power...- neg_ion13

Design an OP AMP Power Supply for Audio Preamp
At the junction of my voltage divider. So I have +4.5 at the top, ground ref in middle and -4.5 at bottom. Also, I made sure my op amp output offset was zero volts with the non-inverting input connected to ground.- neg_ion13

Design an OP AMP Power Supply for Audio Preamp
Thanks for the suggestion. I would to keep the IC count low as I am running on a 9V battery. I'm not sure what current I need yet as I have not considered the next stage of the amplifier. The main problem I am having is; due to this voltage offset at the supply pins my negative half of the...- neg_ion13

Design an OP AMP Power Supply for Audio Preamp
Hello, I am trying to design a foundation for an audio preamp that is powered by a single 9V battery. I am successful so far except the single power supply part. I am using the voltage divider scheme to get a +4.5V and a -4.5V reference voltages. With no load the supply voltages are close to...- neg_ion13

Fourier Transfrom of scaled periodic impulse train
Oops! I am overwriting my impulses. It should be: X(jw) = 2*pi*Sigma[delta(w - pi*(2k))] + pi*Sigma[delta(w - pi*(2k + 1))]- neg_ion13

Fourier Transfrom of scaled periodic impulse train
The Fourier transform for a pulse train is 2*pi*sigma*delta(w - 2*pi/T). Here T = 2. the problem is that a regular pulse train has a constant value of 1 for the impulse while this one does not. This means the above equation needs to be modified to alternate between value of 2 and a value of 1...- neg_ion13

Fourier Transfrom of scaled periodic impulse train
The pulse train is periodic so it runs from plus -inf to +inf. At t = -2 the impulse = 2 At t = -1 the impulse = 1 At t = 0 the impulse = 2 At t = 1 the impulse = 1 At t = 2 the impulse = 2 At t = 3 the impulse = 1 At t = 4 the impulse = 2 Etc... from -inf to +inf- neg_ion13

MATLAB Plot Slope Fields in Matlab | Mathematica vs. Matlab
Does anyone know how to plot slope fields with Matlab? The only things I can find require creating unit vectors and plotting them along level curves. Is their a more direct way? Also, what program do you think is better for straight forward math operation like this, Mathematica or Matlab?- neg_ion13
