Graduate Atoms made of different Quarks
sorry yes, i mean atoms made of mesons and hadrons and the such, combining to for "atoms" is that right?- Noj Werdna

Graduate Atoms made of different Quarks
Atoms, and therefore matter, is made of protons and neutrons, which are in turn made up of quarks, up and down flavors, is it not possible that other matter may be made up of different quarks, so as to make different atoms, that would be very different to those we already know of and also...- Noj Werdna

High School Circle has infinite sides how many sides does a semi circle have?
If a circle has infinite sides how many sides does a semi circle have? i have asked my teachers at school but they have ll said u wud have 2 divide infinity by 2 and +1 which obviously isn't possible cos infinity isn't reli a number is it... Thanks- Noj Werdna

Undergrad How to differentiate X^X in order to find the second derivative?
what is it when differentiated? i don't do chain rule yet :( if you know no need to work it out if not :) and what is D2y/dx^2? Thanks...jw :)- Noj Werdna

Undergrad How to differentiate X^X in order to find the second derivative?
Is there special name for numbers that are to the power of themselves e.g. X^X; 3^3; 4^4 And how can you Differentiate X^X...Thanks- Noj Werdna

Undergrad Understanding Wave Refraction in Denser Media
If the wave front hits the 'new' medium then where the atoms or particles are the wave will be slowed(or transfer energy) to the new mediums 'contents' (I mean molecules/atoms that make it up) some of the energy passes through these 'giant' gaps between the atoms where there is """"Nothing""" so...- Noj Werdna

Graduate Higgs Boson and Space in an Atom
In an atom we know that there is a large space between the particles in an atom. Is this space supposedly filled with the higgs boson prarticle and if so how can we not have seen this particle before. Approx. how many of this boson would that mean there would be! Just speculation really... :)- Noj Werdna

Undergrad Understanding Wave Refraction in Denser Media
Why does a wave refract as it enters a denser medium? i thought a wave was a photon and so i don't understand how a particle can be slowed down on one side before the other, enough that it changes direction by that much, would it not just move between the atoms? as most of the atom is just...- Noj Werdna

Graduate Understanding Double Slit Interference in Electron Diffraction
do any of the electrons that are fired when they become waves interfere and disappear and do some hit the space between the two slits before traveling through(that sounds basic i am just tryin to build up a picture in my mind)- Noj Werdna

Graduate Understanding Double Slit Interference in Electron Diffraction
Chances is there a chance that with the first electron traveling through this hole that it interferes with itself and ends up on the furthest left point on a light fringe not straight through the hole, or does this interference only work with multiple electrons?- Noj Werdna

Graduate Understanding Double Slit Interference in Electron Diffraction
This might sound very basic but... when the electron passes through the two slits and we see the 'pretty' interference pattern on the opposite side what causes the dark fringes to be seen, how does an electron, after acting as a wave and then as an electron when it is recieved, interfere with...- Noj Werdna
