Equation Needed to Figure Resulting Kinetic Energy and Velocities from Fusion

Equation Needed to Figure Resulting Kinetic Energy and Velocities from Fusion... Homework Statement Hey, I am have the initial velocities and masses of nuclei involved in fusion, and am trying to figure out the resulting velocities and kinetic energies. Since this is an inelastic reaction...

was that sarcastic? or actually sincere?

Jet Engine Displacement, Avg. Velocity & Instantaneous Velocity Calculation

Instantaneous Velocity?? (stupid question i bet...) Homework Statement A jet engine moves along an experimental track. Its psoition as a function of time is given by the equation x=At^2+B. A=2.10 m/s^2 and B=2.80 m. A)Determine the displacement of the engine during the time interval from...

The building of a proton accelerator

well, if you had read my post all the way through, i never said we were going to use them, we will try, bu ton ly if we have the right labratory environmetn and safety equipment to do so. I might only be in 9th grade, but i have common sense. -.-

The building of a proton accelerator

"and you used PROTONS for such a thing?" was that a reply to my post? no, we haven't built it, nor will we ever build it without the help of our local Physics department, at the local University. If we do actually build it, we will most likely try and use protons.

How do i understand this equation ?

http://www.phy.ntnu.edu.tw/ntnujava/index.php?topic=33.0 first paragraph, force acting on a particle with charge, and velocity in a magnetic field... (i.e. what do all the symbols mean, how do i find the symbol values...etc.)

The building of a proton accelerator

i am also building one, a cyclotron...with some o fmy friends. WE are all in 9th grade, and we understand the basics..so we have to read up on the subject. Here are three good books to read: "The amateur Scientist" "Accelerators:Machines of Nucelar Physics" And "Particel Accelerators" you...

Is it too ammbitious for four freshmen to do this?

Oh, I totally agree. My group is only going to actually construct it if we have the supervision of our Local University's Physics Department. If not, no way in hell. So yeah, i totally agree. No way are wwe doing this in my basement or something.

Is it too ammbitious for four freshmen to do this?

Is it overly ambitious for four freshman to design and build a cyclotron, if neither of them have an advanced knowledge of physics? We are all hard workers, and can leanr quickly. We will be taking half a year to learned he physics behind the cyclotron. Thanks!

Could i construct a small particle accelerator with the resources of

well, i looke di tup, and i am thinking more along the lines of a cyclotron, or synchrotron...i don't want the legal troubles...

    How could i build a synchrotron/cyclotron?

I will most likely have access to the important materials, but where could i find the instructions?'

Could i construct a small particle accelerator with the resources of

yes, but isn't that a ray tube? not a particle accelerator...(i.e. atom smasher)

Could i construct a small particle accelerator with the resources of

a ninth grader? I am a 9th grader in the IB program (International Baccalaureate) and i am deeply fascinated by Michio Kaku and his betatron particel accelerator. I am VERY interested in Physics, especially particle physics. I want to construct a particle accelerator, for an independent...
