Does the Inverse Function Matrix Always Have a Non-Zero Determinant?

Well, if you rearrange (2) from a/log(a) = c/10c to 10c/log(a)=c/a, you'll notice that 10c is always larger than c and log(a) is always smaller than a (a larger than 1)...therefore 10c/log(a) is always larger than c/a. So the determinant can never be zero. Same idea for (3).

Are Cubic and Elliptical Functions Orthogonal at Intersection Points?

The question I am looking at states: Prove that the elliptical function x^2 + 3y^2=b is orthogonal to the cubic y=3ax^3. I'm thinking they want me to prove if the functions are orthogonal when they intersect. If I am correct that would just lead to; For the ellipse, 2x+6y(m1)=0...

Chasing a Beam of Light: Understanding Special Relativity's Thought Experiment

Ok, so I read about a thought experiment pertaining to special relativity in a book somewhere and the experiment was that of chasing a light beam, which I am sure everyone here has heard of. For those who haven't heard of such an "experiment" here is how it goes: Bart has just bought himself...

Sloped Bed Truck: Acceleration & Normal Force?

If I have a truck with a sloped bed in the back, the truck is accelerating horizontally and there's a block sitting on the slope tied to a rope while all this is happening. I was wondering if the trucks acceleration would cause the normal force being applied to the block by the sloped bed to...

Medical Does Alcohol Really Kill Brain Cells?

So, alcohol doesn't kill brain cells, but what about other drugs, such as marijuana? I've heard a lot of myths coming from two different angles, one being that it does in fact kill brain cells, and another that it improves creativity and cognitive ability. Which one is true? Or are they both...

How Do You Calculate Tension in a Two-Block System on an Incline?

you don't have to take into consideration the angle at which the force is exerted, since the mass and the force lie on the same plane.

    Universal Gravitational constant

The gravitational constant here is useless, well..we don't really need it. We already know that g=9,8, with that you should be able to find it.

Calculating Launch Velocity for a Motorbike Jump

some guy on a moterbike rides up a ramp to clear a gap of 40m, where the flat landing is, situated 15m below the horizontal line of the tip of the ramp. The ramp is at an angle of 53degrees above the horizontal. what velocity must the rider lift off the ramp with? I serioulsy have no ideas on...

Gravity's Effect on Light: Spacetime Curvature Facts

I was wondering, how does light bend in very intense gravitational fields, if it has no weight? And does anyone have a good source for facts on spacetime curvature, gravity and such? Thanks
